Do you get stuck in the comparison trap?

Nutritional News
Let’s say for example you’re sitting down scrolling through Instagram and you see a lot of women or men who look, in your eyes; amazing. You think to yourself “ if only I looked like that then I would be happy.” You see people traveling all over, They have nice cars, a nice house, Everything they ever wanted. You think to yourself “ if only my life was like that or I did what they do then I would be happy.” ⁣
Then your whole mood is ruined because you feel like shit about your own life. Here’s how to get yourself out.⁣
1️⃣ practice empathy for yourself. If you’ve had a hard life and are fighting some demons, no wonder it’s been hard for you to succeed. It’s okay to not be where you want to be in life, as long as you are moving forward. ⁣
2️⃣ realize you have a choice. You are in charge of your own life. You get to decide what you want to see on your Instagram, you can fill your mind with negativity or you can fill your mind with positive things. You also have a choice on what job you have, how you spend your time, and how you react to situations. Sometimes just knowing the powers in your hands is enough to help keep you grounded. ⁣
3️⃣ Practice feeling happy for other people. As jealous as you may feel, Pretend the person you’re looking at is someone you really like and admire. Would you be happy for your child/ spouse/family/ friend’s successes? Yes you would, so why not be happy for a stranger? If you really don’t like that person that you’re looking at, Unfollow them. ⁣
All of this is easier said than done, but with practice and consistency, you will notice your mindset shift. Just don’t give up and be patient with yourself. ⁣
Have a wonderful weekend!⁣
